Office of Community Oriented Policing Services seeks to expand the number of police officers and improve cooperative efforts between law enforcement agencies and members of the community to enhance public safety. The agency provides grants which fund new officers' salaries, training in community policing and problem- solving, and other innovative programs designed to bring law enforcement agencies into partnership with members of the community to address local crime problems.
